Zoltán Dombóvári is again MTA Lendület winner!
Zoltán Dombóvári received support from MTA to establish an advanced Lendület research group with his proposal titled "Impulse-based theory to release data-oriented nonlinear description for machining processes". With this support his current Lendület group can continue the work for further 5 years. This year 21 new Lendület research group is established, for details see the website of MTA.

Hanna Zsófia Horváth received the audience award at the Center European final of the MT180 competition
Our colleague Hanna Zsófia Horváth won
the audience award at the Center European final of the "MT180 -
My dissertation in 180 seconds" competition organized by the French
Institute of Budapest and Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). The title
of her presentation was "Vibrations of anholonomic systems".
Margit Bende helped her to prepare for the competition.

Hanna Zsófia Horváth won the MT180 competition
Our colleague Hanna Zsófia Horváth won first prize
at the national round of "MT180 - My dissertation in 180 seconds" competition
organised by the French Institute of Budapest and ESSCA-Budapest. With this result
she made it to the competition of Central European universities. The title of her
presentation was "Vibrations of anholonomic systems". Hanna's supervisor is
Dénes Takács, and Margit Bende helped her
to prepare to the competition.

Gábor Stépán won the Lyapunov Award
The ASME Design Engineering Division has awarded the Lyapunov Award
every two years to mechanical engineers who have contributed to the field of
nonlinear dynamics with outstanding research results. This year, the prize
was awarded to Professor Gábor Stépán, who received the award at the ASME
IDETC/CIE 2023 Congress in Boston. The title of his plenary lecture was
From the Delayed Mathieu Equation to the Stability of High-Speed Milling
Processes.

Gábor Stépán received the Bolyai Prize
Professor Gábor Stépán received the 2023 Bolyai Prize, the most prestigious
scientific award in Hungary. The prize is awarded biannually to one person:
"who achieved internationally outstanding results in the field of scientific
research, development, youth education, and the utilization of the results
in socio-economic life." The award was given by the President of the
Hungarian Republic, Katalin Novák.
