Motion capturing (mocap) is a special type of video recorder which captures the movement of objects or humans. These techniques have been widely used in biomechanical, medical and sport related research and development.
Optitrack's motion detection system is based on passive markers to record motion. The available 12 Prime 13 cameras (4 out of them are wide range cameras) follow the spatial position of markers which are placed on the body/object. The data set recorded in this way enables the analysis of the trajectories, which can be prepared for postprocessing using the available Motive software. The camera system can be installed both indoors and outdoors.
